RaRa

RaRa has known that she wanted to be a pop star since she was just four years old. The Cheltenham-raised artist grew up dreaming of emulating the successes of powerhouses like Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera, and is now crafting stirring tracks about her own personal experiences and feelings that are showcasing her own vast potential as an artist.

Her tracks often have an empowering feel to them, delving into everything from the artist’s real-life experiences as a young female in the music industry to the heartbreak she has endured from relationships, serving as a cathartic outlet to express how she feels in therapeutic fashion, all while maintaining this timeless and immaculately poised allure.

This exciting artist has worked hard to get to where she is now, having spent time working as everything from a farm-hand to financial services, immersing herself in local jam sessions and open mic nights along the way, working residencies and being a member in bands in places like China, Abu Dhabi and Dubai as she paid her dues and gained valuable experience on her way to becoming financially independent and able to form her own sound and path.

Despite her roots in the UK, RaRa’s sound emulates a feeling of Southern USA, packed full of soul and often incorporating essential elements such as backing singers and gospel influences to create this atmospheric feel that transports you from wherever you are to favourite recording spots of the artist like Nashville and Memphis.

“I have always found this part of the world opens up a creative door for me compared to others. Music is in the air in Tennessee, it’s everywhere, so I feel very inspired.”

RaRa has stories. A rollercoaster career to date that has spanned TV appearances, releasing covers, having songs featured on BBC 1, London Live, GB News and Talk TV, and a range of life experiences and connections with artists and producers, as well as performing at the BBC Show business awards on a star-studded line up including artists like Beverley Knight, Gary Barlow and Katherine Jenkins.

Now, with a debut album, she’s looking forward to her upcoming live performances, finally performing her own music on her terms.  As she ushers in this new era of RaRa, it feels hard to bet against an artist with such a wealth of passion for what she does and the distinctive, powerful sound that she possesses. Armed with a catalogue of her own heartfelt songs, her trademark guile and fierceness, and the unwavering support of her adored toy poodles Eric and Dusty, it’s an exciting time for the revered artist and a chance to really make an impact on modern music.
