DAVE EDMUNDS

The roots rock’n’roller who made his name touring and recording with his band Rockpile alongside Nick Lowe, including a successful solo career signed to Led Zeppelin’s Swansong label. He produced The Flamin Groovies, and The Stray Cats. He played guitar with Carl Perkins, Keith Richards, Bruce Springsteen, Chuck Berry and many more on TV shows, film soundtracks and major live shows. APM has worked with Dave since 2013 when we started with a reissue of his 1975 album ‘Subtle As A Flying Mallet’ on RPM Records. In that process we acquired from Dave the studio session recordings he made outside of that album which were originally used on the album soundtrack of the film ‘Stardust’. These include standout originals Make Me Good and You Kept Me Waiting . This was a precursor to us producing an album of recordings acquired from Dave that he had made during the 1990s when residing in California and playing the big arenas in the US. Cherry picking the best tracks and adding to them three brand new recordings made by Dave during 2013, now living back in Wales, these became the album ‘Again’. The title track was promoted with a successful video and a round of TV and radio appearances in the UK. Standout tracks are the rocking Standing In The Crossroads, Halfway Down, I Got The Will , Chutes and Ladders and the title track Again also written by Dave. Finally in 2015 came Dave’s last album to date ‘On Guitar’ a collection of guitar instrumentals Dave recorded that year including his amazing reworking of Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 in G Minor. Well he did tackle Katchturian’s ‘Sabre Dance’ and Holst’s ‘Mars’ in 1968. So why not. We continue to work with Dave assisting with his auto-biography and the management of his Swan Song catalogue.
